COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTW) – It’s going to be dangerously hot again in eastern South Carolina.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for 16 counties along the South Carolina coast. Cities covered by the advisory include Charleston, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Hilton Head Island, Florence, Goose Creek and Myrtle Beach.

The advisory warning of dangerous heat is in effect from midday until early evening Tuesday.

Forecasters say heat index readings are expected to reach 107 degrees.

Stormtracker 13 Meteorologist James Hopkins said the triple digit heat will continue for two more days, then only a slight drop in temperature by the end of the week.
