OLANTA, SC (WBTW) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Florence County Monday morning.
According to the SCHP website, at least one person died in a crash near Olanta, on North Floyd Road at North Bethel Road.
The crash happened just after 9:00 a.m.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken, identifies the victim as Latara Denise Conner, 35, of Scranton.
Cpl. Sonny Collins said the driver of a 1998 Mercury sedan was traveling south on Bethel Road and crossed the center line, crashing head-on into a tractor trailer traveling north bound on Bethel Road.
The truck driver suffered no apparent major injuries but was taken to a local hospital, Collins said.
SCHP and MAIT team continue to investigate.
