HCPD report: Teen shot in leg, reportedly says he was trying to buy marijuana

A teen was shot in the leg and reportedly told police he was trying to buy marijuana, according to an incident report from the Horry County Police Department. 

Officers responded to Sea Coast Medical Center around 10:30 p.m. on Monday in reference to a gun shot wound, the report says. Upon arriving, officers spoke with medical staff, who reportedly stated that a 17-year-old male was in the ER with a gunshot wound to his upper thigh. 

Officers contacted the victim, who reportedly stated that he was on Bombing Range Rd. to buy some marijuana, when an unknown male allegedly put a gun to his head, the report also says. The victim also reportedly stated that his truck was still in drive, so he started driving with the suspect hanging on to the driver’s side door. The suspect then allegedly shot the teen in the leg.
