CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – Horry County police are looking for the person or people accused damaging multiple vehicle windshields in the Carolina Forest area Saturday.
Spokesperson Mikayla Moskov with the police department says they received reports for two malicious injury cases over the weekend. According to the reports, both incidents happened on Carolina Forest Boulevard.
The first victim says they were driving on Carolina Forest Boulevard toward River Oaks Drive around 8:45 p.m. when an object struck the windshield of the car, causing “an impact mark and further cracks on the windshield.” The victim also said they were told the same thing had happened to several other cars driving in the area in that same time period and that an individual was allegedly throwing rocks out of a moving vehicle at other drivers.
In another police report, the victim noted that he was turning out of the Walker Woods subdivision when a big rock hit the center of his front windshield, shattering it. The officer noted in the report that the damage was consistent with “some type of blunt object hitting it and cracking it in the middle, causing it to spider web,” and that there were several complaints in the area of rocks being thrown at passing cars. Police did check the area several times, but couldnt confirm the reports.
In the press release, police noted that they were aware of a number of social media posts related to the incidents and they’re working to pursue all leads to find those responsible.
