DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW)- The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a Hartsville woman.

Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee says it happened just before midnight on Saturday at Centerville Road, just 3 miles east of Hartsville.

According to the SCHP, the driver of a 2011 Toyota Sedan was traveling south on Centerville Road as a woman was crossing the road eastbound.

The coroner says Janie Mae Brown, 61, died after being hit by the Toyota.

Troopers say she was wearing dark clothing. Brown’s autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The SCHP says the driver of the Toyota and passenger were both wearing seat-belts and sustained no injuries.
