Hartsville man wanted for attempted murder turns himself in

HARTSVILLE, SC (WBTW) – The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office says a Hartsville man wanted for attempted murder turned himself in Sunday.

Deputies were searching for Gregory Benjamin, 30, of Hartsville, after he reportedly stabbed a man several times Thursday just outside of Hartsville. Officials say Benjamin was attempting to rob the man, and ended up stabbing the victim multiple times.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is currently in stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office. Warrants have been issued for Benjamin for attempted murder in connection with the stabbing.
