SOCASTEE, SC (WBTW) – Ten people were taken to the hospital Wednesday morning when a small car crossed the center line on Highway 707 in Socastee and hit a van, state troopers said.

No one died, South Carolina Highway Patrol Corporal Sonny Collins told News13. Horry County Fire Rescue had referred to the crash, at Brandymill Boulevard, as a “mass casualty incident.”

Collins said seven people in the van were taken to the hospital. Three people in the car were hospitalized.

Horry County Fire Rescue said three of the people had life-threatening injuries, two had critical injuries, and five had minor injuries.

Collins says the driver of the car is charged with driving left of center. The incident report was not immediately available, but Collins says the driver’s name is Jessica Jones.
