CONWAY, SC (WBTW) – City employees do their part to try and clean up downtown.
About 50 employees and other volunteers picked up trash all over the city this morning. Conway teamed up with PalmettoPride for this weekend’s event, as part of the Great American Cleanup 2018.
The volunteers say it’s important to them to keep Conway clean.
“We’re just trying to pick up as much trash on the roadways as possible,” said city spokesperson Taylor Newell. “Litter is obviously something that trashes everyone, so if we can be out here in the community, helping to clean that up, then it’s obviously going to make Conway a little bit better.”
The city of Conway also hosts community cleanup days once a month.
