MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach police are investigating a woman’s death as a homicide after her body was discovered inside a hotel room Monday morning.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says the victim is 20-year-old Colee Muirhead, of Myrtle Beach.
According to Myrtle Beach Police Captain Joey Crosby, officers were called to the Beachcomber Ocean Front Inn, located at 1405 S. Ocean Blvd, around 1:16 a.m. Monday after receiving reports someone died. Officers found Muirhead dead with a gunshot wound when they arrived and started searching the room for witnesses and evidence. That is when crime scene officers were called to take over, Capt. Crosby confirms.
As of Monday evening, police had not arrested anyone in reference to the crime or established motive. The release from Captain Crosby stated police believe this is an isolated incident.
