On Wednesday, veterans got to swim with the rays at Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach as part of a program for veterans with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries.
“It’s a peacefulness and a serenity that you get from being in the tank. It just overcomes you, the rays and the sharks swimming around in there intermixing is so majestic it just puts you in another place and time. It gives you a feeling of real calmness going into the tank,” said Lou Krieger, a group coordinator with Myrtle Beach PTSD Group.
This is the second year of the program and if you want more information about “Swimming with the Rays,” contact Ripley’s Aquarium.
