One person was killed Friday in an accident near the Horry and Georgetown County line, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The coroner’s office identified the person as Lauren Cockrell, 29. She was originally from Illinois but had been living in the area for about a year, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden.
SCHP said the accident happened just before 2:30 p.m. in the 9300-block of US-701 South in the area of the Yohannah Bridge.
