Traffic is flowing on the Highway 17 Bypass again after it was briefly shutdown Wednesday morning because of a small chemical spill.

Both north and southbound lanes of the 17 Bypass were closed south of Farrow Parkway and north of Palmetto Pointe Boulevard.

The Myrtle Beach Fire Department got the call shortly before 9 a.m. They say a gallon of some sort of acid fell of a truck. Their hazmat united diluted the chemical with 500 gallons of water.

Traffic was re-opened around 45 minutes later.
