Rice said he hangs his hat on job creation within his district.
“We ran on jobs. Twenty-one thousand jobs created in the district in my five and a half years here,” said Rice after his win Tuesday night. “We got beach front renourishment going on right now. We got the Dillon Inland Port open.”
Rep. Rice also said one of his main goals is to work on the Interstate 73 project.
“America is the land of opportunity and I want that opportunity to reach everybody,” he said. “We’re going to diversify our industrial base. We’ve got to have infrastructure and that means I-73.”
Rice encouraged his supporters to continue doing the same things to build up the seventh congressional district.
“We’re delivering on what we said we’re going to do,” says Rice.
State Rep. Williams won re-election for his seat in the state house of representatives.
