Horry County police officers were called a home on Berrywood Court Sunday morning for a call about a newspaper delivery man being threatened with a gun.
According to a post on Facebook from the Horry County Police Department, when officers arrived two people ran into a house. The officers surrounded the house and called for backup.
Officers from multiple precincts were called in to assist and worked to make contact with the suspect. After some time the suspect exited the house and surrendered to police.
Inside the home, officers found five occupants, including three children. One handgun and three long guns were seized from the location.
Police identify the suspect as Jose Gregorio-Martinez and is charged with Pointing and Presenting Firearms at a Person. He is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $1,000 bond
