Surfside Beach town councilman Randle Stevens is being forced to pay over $3,000 in fines for ethics violations dating back to his 2016 campaign.
The State Ethics Commission found Stevens in violation of the states ethics laws.
Those violations include failing to disclose campaign contributions and expenditures as well as accepting anonymous contributions.
Stevens will have to pay $3,300 in fines and fees as a reduced civil penalty. If he does not pay within six months he will face the full $12,650 combined fines and fees for his violations.
