SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Surfside Beach Town Council adopted a first reading of an ordinance to transfer elections to Horry County during a meeting on Tuesday.
News13 was at the meeting at Council Chambers.
Horry County would manage filing candidates, advertising, and counting the votes. This would also move Surfside Beach’s elections from April to November of odd-number years.
Horry County Council must agree to this before Surfside Beach can pass a law handing over control to the county.
