A mother-daughter duo from Surfside Beach will appear in the Food Network’s new show Winner Cake All.

Aura Fuenmayor and her daughter, Rebeca Kipp, own Pink Pineapple Cakes in Surfside Beach. Originally from Venezuela, Fuenmayor trained her daughter in the kitchen but Kipp jokes that she handles the business while her mother takes care of “the cake and sugar”.

The duo was the only team featured in their episode that wasn’t from New York. They tell News13, among their competitors was a bakery that made cakes for a Victoria’s Secret model.

The duo received the first email from the Food Network in June of 2018 and did not film the episode until October. They say there were many times they would go weeks without hearing back and would assume they weren’t chosen.

The selection process consisted of an application and multiple Skype call auditions where the duo would have to present a cake to the judges.

Fuenmayor said when she was learning to bake from her grandmother, she never dreamed the Food Network would be in her future. She added, meeting Giada De Laurentiis, one of the shows judges, was an unbelievable experience.

The episode Fuenmayor and Kipp appear in will air on the Food Network on March 4th.
