PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WBTW) – A family in Pawleys Island was enjoying the first day of no school at the beach when they were joined by a large group of stingrays.
As the kids played in the ocean Wednesday afternoon in the Prince George area of Pawleys Island, they spotted a group of 40 to 50 stingrays about 40 feet offshore. The woman who captured the video said the stingrays split into separate groups and began riding the waves where the family was playing on the beach.
The video shows eight to 10 stingrays, but the family says there were many more within about an eighth of a mile stretch along the coast.
“We have lived here for 13 years and never experienced this, so what a special day!” the woman said when sharing the video with WBTW.
