North Myrtle Beach public safety officers responded to a Walmart around 1:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call for someone firing a gun at a car.

According to City Spokesperson Pat Dowling, a woman from Little River followed her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend to the Walmart on Highway 17.

An argument ensued, and the woman ripped a necklace from her ex-boyfriend and punched him in the face several times.

The man and other woman he was with got into his car and began to drive away.

As that happened, the woman from Little River fired one shot at the vehicle, apparently striking the left rear driver’s side tire/wheel, according to Dowling.

She then left the parking lot, and both vehicles headed north.

The man and other woman pulled over at a fireworks store. The woman from Little River continued north and out of the city.

No one was hurt from the gunshot. The man did have some swelling to his face from the punches but refused medical treatment.

At this time no arrests have been made, but police say they know the identity of the three people involved.
