Senator Greg Hembree, of North Myrtle Beach, was hospitalized Thursday after suffering what doctors think was a “very small aneurysm.”
His daughter confirmed the medical emergency happened while he was at home.
She says the outlook is “positive” and expects him to make a full recovery.

Hembree will remain in the hospital as he continues to receive treatment. Hembree’s family thanked first responders, doctors, and nurses for their care.
“Hembree’s prognosis is excellent and doctors expect a full recovery and a return to his life with no restrictions,” a press release from Reagan C. Kelley, the Communications Director for the South Carolina Senate Majority, says. “He has experienced no neurological impacts in connection with the aneurysm and is fully engaged with his doctors, medical staff and family.”
The release also states Hembree will be closely monitored over the next few weeks, but no surgery is expected.
