MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue crews partnered with a group of volunteers to get a sea turtle found on the beach a new home.
On Tuesday, a beach patrol crew worked with the Myrtle Beach Police Department Animal Control Unit and volunteers from the North Myrtle Beach Sea Turtle Patrol to rescue a sea turtle.
Thanks to their actions, the turtle will be taking a trip to Charleston to be rehabilitated at the Charleston Aquarium and hopefully reintroduced to the ocean once he’s recovered.
A post to the Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Facebook page says Engineers Ross Porter and Josh Zorzi, as well as Officer Steven Trott from MBPD helped the sea turtle find a new home.
