MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The driver of a pickup truck was killed after it ran off the side of a road Wednesday evening, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Cpl. Sonny Collins says the accident happened around 5:25 p.m. on Tidewater Road. Collins says the 2012 Ford pickup was traveling west on Tidewater Road when it ran off the side of the road and struck a ditch.
The driver was the only person inside of the truck at the time of the accident. Collins says they were not wearing a seatbelt.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as David Stockdale, 49, of Conway. Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard says Stockdale passed away at the accident scene.
