South Carolina Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette came to Conway on Thursday.
She received a tour of the new Teknoware facility, which is near Wild Wing across Highway 501 from Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
News13 previously reported that the facility would add about 50 jobs to the area.
Employees earn an average of $18 per hour with benefits.
“Obviously, what Teknoware is doing here is important. It’s important to the people of South Carolina, it’s important to Horry County. We want to make sure all the businesses that have come to South Carolina know exactly how important they are to us,” said lt. Gov. Evette.
Lt. Governor Evette also spoke at the “Spring to Life” Gala at the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort on Thursday evening.
