The AquaDams that were put in place to control flooding in Georgetown County should be removed some time this weekend.
According to a post on Facebook by Georgetown County Friday night, SC-DOT hopes to have the AquaDams removed withing 24 to 48 hours. They say that the timeline is subject to change.
Georgetown County also said in the post that they “do not have any input into, or control over, the process for their (the AquaDams) removal.”
SC-DOT staff is still working overtime in the areas heavily impacted by the flooding.
