A South Carolina Correctional Officer was arrested on Thursday in Marlboro County.
A press release from the South Carolina Department of Corrections says Correctional Officer Ronnie Evans was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery and one count of misconduct in office.
While working at Evans Correctional Facility in Bennettsville, Evans is accused of inappropriately touching at least one woman in the prison at the end of March. Warrants do not specify if there was more than one victim.
Warrants detail how Evans allegedly touched a woman inappropriately, made “obscene and sexual comments,” and attempted to place blame on the victim.
Evans worked within the prison for about two years.
A mugshot of Evans has not been released.
