Road closures will impact traffic as crews work on the Carolina Bays Parkway/Highway 31 Extension project.
According to a press release from Horry County Government, the following roads will be impacted:
- “The Dick Pond Road turn lane at SC Hwy 544 (exits Dick Pond Road onto SC Hwy 544 westbound) will be closed Monday, January 7, 2019, and Tuesday, January 8, 2019, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to construct wheelchair ramps.”
- “There will be a lane closure on Hwy 544 westbound at the intersection of Hwy 544 and Dick Pond Road; and the Hwy 544 eastbound turn lane onto Pine Hollow Road Wednesday, January 9, 2019, and Thursday, January 10, 2019. from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for wheelchair ramp construction.”
In December, Horry County officials said the project will not be completed until 2019 due to recent hurricanes. The project began in 2014 and no specific completion date has been announced.
