Republican incumbents Russell Fry and Heather Ammons Crawford keep their SC House seats

HORRY CO., (WBTW)- Incumbent Russell Fry wins re-election for district seat 106 and Heather Ammons Crawford will keep her district 68 seat.

Fry said going forward, he wants to work on education reform and individualize education giving parents more options. He also said coming back in January, they will have to deal with a budget surplus and hopes some of that money will go to help those affected by Hurricane Florence.

“I fight everyday for them to represent them, to take their views into consideration, and to advocate on behalf of this community and I’m very happy that they at least thought I should go back for another two years,” said Rep. Russell Fry.

Fry was up against democrat Robin Gause who ran on health care reform, an increase in living wages, and gun reform.

“I’ve always lived by this motto that if you lose or win either way you’re still a champion and you’re not defeated,” said Gause.

Incumbent Heather Ammons Crawford wins re-election for district 68 . She is on the state budget writing committee, and part of her platform is to ensure that district 68 receives its fair share of funding for infrastructure needs.

News 13 reached out to her, and have yet to hear back.

News 13 did meet up with her opponent, Libertarian Cameron Ventura who wanted to lower the state debt and eliminate state income tax

“Investigate who represents you and educate yourself well and educate your neighbors and you need to be proponent for some cause yourself because that’s how you’re going to improve your community,” said Ventura.
