A woman shot herself accidentally after drinking at a Myrtle Beach bar.
A police report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department says officers were dispatched to South Strand Hospital for a woman who shot herself accidentally on Wednesday around 4 a.m.
Upon arriving officers spoke with the victim, who said she was drinking at the Ole Shillelagh bar and had “quite a bit of drinks,” the report also says. The woman says she left the bar and headed northwest on foot, where she came across two men sitting outside looking at a handgun.
According to the report, the woman started talking to the men and asked if she could see the gun. One of the men reportedly took the clip out of the gun and handed the gun to the woman. The woman then shot herself in the left knee.
The woman started walking away, when another male drove by her and took her to the hospital, the report says. The woman also said she was intoxicated and didn’t remember much about what happened.
The report adds the woman didn’t know exactly where the incident took place and she couldn’t give landmarks or avenues where she was near.
No information about arrests or charges is available.
