MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The American Red Cross will work with victims of the Windsor Green apartment complex fire to offer food, a temporary place to live, and family needs.
Thursday night, 15 responders from the local Red Cross were at the Windsor Green apartment complex for several hours, providing food and water to residents and first responders, according to Cuthbert Langley, director of communications.
Health, mental health, and spiritual care volunteers were also on scene to help the families in any way possible. Red Cross volunteers returned Friday morning with the organization’s emergency response vehicle to provide food and water. Volunteers will also visit the victims who were hospitalized to see how they can help.
“So far, it is estimated that the Red Cross will be providing financial assistance to at least 20 individuals. As this situation is still developing, that number may change,” according to a press release from the group.
Red Cross officials say the best way for people to support the victims of the Windsor Green fire is to give online.
