MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Myrtle Beach police and fire rescue crews were called to a hotel construction site after rebar fell 15 stories, hitting two construction workers.
Lt. Jonathan Evans with Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue says the rebar fell from approximately 15 stories high, hitting two workers, sending them both to the hospital. Lt. Evans could not comment on the severity of the injuries.
The injuries occurred at a hotel construction site located at 1609 North Ocean Boulevard shortly before 11 a.m. It is unclear at this time what caused the rebar to fall.
