MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW)- The Rape Crisis Center for Horry and Georgetown Counties says their hotline is being flooded with calls from people who believe they have been drugged at bars in the Myrtle Beach area.

The center says they’ve been inundated with calls from people who believe they were drugged. People have reported they were drinking, but not enough to black out, and some people reported they were only drinking water when it happened.

The Rape Crisis Center says the ages of callers has ranged from teens to middle age women.

The center also says they’ve met with Myrtle Beach Police Department, who will be looking into this deeper. They are warning people to not trust anyone with your drink or put your drink down.

They suggest bartenders call a taxi or Uber if they see someone that seems too intoxicated.”Call a taxi service, call an Uber, or make sure they get into a reputable transportation to get home and make sure they’re with someone who is actually their friend that they came with or have them leave alone,” says Ashley Hoshihara Cruz, with the Rape Crisis Center.
