A racer died shortly after winning a race at the Myrtle Beach Speedway.

Jennifer Willard, Director of Sales and Marketing for the speedway, says in an email Bob Walker died on Saturday night. Walker was loading his car when he “had a medical emergency that took his life.” The race was Walker’s final race.

“At this time, we ask for everyone to please say a prayer for Bob Walker and his family. Bob will truly be missed by the entire racing community,” Willard also says.

“It is with great sadness to say we lost a great man and a true racer last night, Bob Walker, after he won his final race,” a post on the speedway’s Facebook page says.
