Horry County police confirm a man’s body was pulled from a pond Friday evening, after receiving reports of distressed swimmers.
Horry County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief John Fowler says the department was initially called to a vehicle in a pond on Lilac Road, off of Highway 544, around 5:45 p.m. Teams on scene confirm no car was involved, but there were distressed swimmers.
Capt. John Harrelson, spokesman for the Horry County Police Department, confirmed the body was pulled from the pond. The Horry County Coroner’s Office confirmed the body was that of a man. Their identity has not been released.
