PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WBTW) – A person is being brought back to shore after a report of overturned kayakers in the ocean near Pawleys Island.
A tweet from Midway Fire Rescue around 5:40 p.m. Sunday said water resources were launched and crews made contact with the kayakers about one mile from the shore off the south end of Pawleys Island. A person is being brought back to shore, as of the tweet.

Rescue crews responded to a report of distressed overturned kayakers in the ocean.
A tweet from the Pawleys Island Police Department said the kayakers overturned at the south inlet and appear to be in distress.

Midway Fire Rescue crews are also responding to the south end of Pawleys Island for a report of “victims in the ocean as the result of an overturned kayak,” a tweet from the department said.
