MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) A pedestrian has died after a hit-and-run in Myrtle Beach.

Robert Edge, with the Horry County Coroner’s Office, confirmed to News13 that Brian Bigert, 36, has died.

Police responded to the crash on March 15 at 17th Avenue South and South Kings Street around 7:30 p.m., near the Walmart Neighborhood Market.

The pedestrian was hit and police said the driver of the vehicle initially drove away from the scene. One person was detained in connection with the incident later in the night.

Cpl. Thomas Vest with Myrtle Beach police, previously told News13 that Ingrid Collins, 44, of Surfside Beach, was served warrants in connection to the incident. 

In a press release, Tamara Willard, with the Horry County Coroner’s Office, said Bigert, of Myrtle Beach, died on March 21 from injuries he sustained. 

He was struck near 17th Avenue S. around 7:25 p.m. on March 15, according to the release. He was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
