Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art kicks off poster design contest

PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WBTW) – Got skills? The Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art is accepting entries for its annual poster design contest.

The winning design will be the festival’s official poster and will appear on the cover of the 2019 festival program, and all promotional materials. The winner will receive $300, passes to the festival, and 10 posters. Second- and third-place winners will receive $100 and $50, respectively.

“All artwork, regardless of the medium, should depict the Lowcountry, art, and music, and must not have been previously exhibited in any Horry or Georgetown county or city program,” said Susan Bryant, the festival’s marketing director.

Artists can submit up to two entries and may choose from paint, markers, photography, digital art, crayons, or chalk. The work will compete in levels including 8th grade and below, 9th – 12th grades, and adult.

The size should not exceed 36” x 36” and should be designed in vertical format. Artists can submit up to two entries and may choose from paint, markers, photography, digital art, crayons, or chalk.

 A panel of arts professionals will make the final selection based on specifications, design, and marketability. In addition to the cover of the 29th annual festival program, the original art, signed by the artist, will be auctioned at the 20th Annual Pawleys Island Wine Gala.  All auction proceeds will go to the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art.
