According ot a post on Facebook the SC-DOT has developed a plan to delay closing the US-17 bridge over the Waccamaw River in Georgetown.

SC-DOT developed the plan with the South Carolina National Guard. The flood water is expected to overtop the roadway sometime next week.

In order to start this plan US-17 will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Sunday. SC-DOT warns of heavy congestion and long delays in the area as workers try to protect the bridge.
