SOCASTEE AREA, SC (WBTW) – The Palmetto Pointe Boulevard extension project is now under construction and completion is expected in November.

Horry County officials met for a meeting about infrastructure and regulation on Tuesday. News13’s Maggie Lorenz was at that meeting.

A bid was granted to Southern Asphalt and trees have started to be cleared. The expected completion date is November 30.

According to Horry County’s Ride III outline, the Palmetto Pointe Boulevard project will cost around $7.5 million. The work will construct an extension of Palmetto Pointe Boulevard to connect to SC Hwy. 544 at the Big Block Road intersection. The new road will include 2-lanes and bike/pedestrian facilities such as sidewalks and wider travel lanes.
