HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – An outdoor burn ban has been put in place for the unincorporated areas of Horry County.

Horry County Government has put an outdoor burn ban in place, effective immediately, for the unincorporated areas of the county, a press release says. The ban will remain in place until further notice.

“The ban has been placed due to the extreme fire danger as a result of the heat, lack of rain, and low relative humidity,” the release said. “Any and all outdoor burning, included permitted burns, are strictly prohibited during the ban, and those involved in any open burning would be in violation of the law.”

The City of Conway has also implemented a burn ban.
