An ordnance was found in Garden City on Thursday as crews constructed a pool.

According to Jason Lesley, with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, the ordnance was found Thursday on South Waccamaw Drive. Crews who were digging and constructing a pool found a number of ordnances and shells.

The GCSO placed a deputy at the scene overnight to make sure no one interfered with the findings, Lesley also said. A munitions expert from Shaw Air Force Base was expected to arrive Friday morning to safely remove it.
