HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) – The third annual Horry County Fair opened up at the Myrtle Beach Speedway on Friday.

The fair’s organizers say they’re expecting their busiest year yet. Attendance during the first day picked up later in the afternoon, as more families arrived after work and school.

Kids enjoyed rides, the petting zoo and other activities with their parents and friends.

The fair’s organizers also say they’ve brought in more rides, including a special one called the “Frisbee” from Europe, which swings like a pendulum.

“There’s a lot of new things, actually, if you come out this year,” said Steve Zacharias, general manager of the Myrtle Beach Speedway. “They’ve shaken it up. They’ve got a new ride that’s coming in for the first time ever from Germany. There’s only one of four of them in the world.”

The fair is open both days this weekend from noon until 11 p.m. It continues all next week and ends on Sunday, April 29.
