A head-on collision Saturday night in Loris kills one person and injures another.
The incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 701 near the Loris Motel.
According to Horry County Coroner Darris Fowler, 51-year-old Tonie Smith died.
Smith crossed over the center line and hit an SUV, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The driver of that car was taken to the hospital.
No word on that person’s condition.
