One person is dead after being hit by a car while crossing a road Friday evening in Horry County.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 7:45 p.m. when the pedestrian was trying to cross Dick Pond Road and Highway 707.
The person has been identified as John Paul Therrien by the Horry County Corner’s Office. He was 40-year-old, from Michigan. He died at the hospital after the crash.
The driver and passenger in the car were not hurt.
