One person has died in a multi-vehicle crash on US17 in Horry County Friday night.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 1702 US17, in Little River around 7:30 p.m. near Lakeside Drive.
All lanes were closed for a period of time. The lanes have since reopened.
A News13 photographer said three cars were involved in the incident. The vehicles were badly damaged. Firefighters remained on scene as of around 10 p.m.
According to Sonny Collins with the Highway Patrol, the driver of a Ford Focus pulled out of a private driveway onto Highway 17 when they hit an oncoming Chevrolet Equinox that was traveling south. The driver of the Equinox then struck a Honda Odyssey that was traveling north.
The driver of the Ford Focus was killed in the crash.
No names have been released.
