Fire crews responded to a structure fire in Longs Wednesday night.

Firefighters responded to a single-family home on Freemont Rd. in Longs around 10:34 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a tweet from Horry County Fire Rescue. Seven supression engines, four EMS vehicles, and 26 HCFR personnel responded to the fire.

First responders reportedly saw dark, black smoke coming from the home.

Crews were able to get the fire under control about an hour later, but didn’t clear the scene until about 2 a.m.

The official cause of the fire remains under investigation. 

No foul play is suspected and no one was injured. 

One person who lived in the home is displaced and being assisted by the American Red Cross of South Carolina.
