AYNOR, SC (WBTW)- Neighbors of the four people who were arrested for a dog fighting operation in Aynor say they’ve heard heard whimpering from the back yard and that the dogs spent most of their time in chains.

Horry County police seized 17 pitbulls, and one mastiff from the home, who now remain at the Horry County Animal Care Detention Center.

“You could hear them all night long over there, I didn’t know exactly what was going on but I got a good idea.” said next-door neighbor, Howard Jordan.

Jordan has lived in his home on Persimmon Road for the last four years, and says this group of people moved in about six months ago.

“I don’t get in other peoples business, I stay in my own yard and mind my own business,” said Jordan.

Another neighbor, Sherry Bell says she’s had problem with the homeowners for a while now.

“I have had four dogs killed, they came home bleeding out, bite marks all over them, I couldn’t find out what happened,” said Bell.  “But when my German Shepherd got killed, I came to the house and me and this man had it out.”
