MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – FEMA approved giving $1.1 million to the city of Myrtle Beach for debris removal costs after Hurricane Matthew.

FEMA said Tuesday the total project cost is $1,363,978. The amount not funded by the FEMA grant will be paid with non-federal money.

In South Carolina, 26 counties were designated for Public Assistance funding under the Presidential declaration due to damage caused by Hurricane Matthew. To date, FEMA has obligated more than $224 million to South Carolina under the Public Assistance program.
