MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – The city is welcoming some new police officers to the force.
The city’s police department formally swore in 12 new officers Friday afternoon. They were officially sworn in during Hurricane Florence, but MBPD wanted to hold a special ceremony for the officers, their friends and family.
Family members pinned on badges to the dozen new officers.
Chief Amy Prock also gave out longevity awards to some veteran officers.
