Myrtle Beach Middle School students raise money for American Cancer Society

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A group of Myrtle Beach Middle School students arranged a tasty treat for their fellow classmates to help support a great cause.

Members of the school’s “Genius Hour Team” arranged for a Kona Ice truck to come to the school and sell sno-cones during soccer games held Wednesday.

Kona ice donated 25-percent of its profits back to the school and that will go to the American Cancer Society.

“Our teacher had cancer, and we felt kind of bad for her because she wasn’t in school for about 3 weeks or a month, and we thought it would be nice to raise money for that, and help her out, and all the other people that can’t afford to take care of their cancer,” said Aidan Trippany.

The students also sold concessions during the games and all those proceeds will also go to the cancer society.
