MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Businesses in Myrtle Beach must close Wednesday evening, according to city officials.

A post on the city’s Facebook page instructs business owners to complete operations and have all security measures in place by 5 p.m. Wednesday. City leaders also note the evacuation process should be complete by 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department is staffing this 24-hour Information Line during the evacuation period. Anyone with questions can call 843-918-4636.

City facilities are closed, but Public Safety and Public Works are working 24-hours. Myrtle Beach’s Emergency Operations Center will open Thursday to respond to Hurricane Florence. The EOC number is 843-918-1400.
